WHEREAS: The art of painting on porcelain has been
recognized as a fine art by all the world's great civilizations, and
has enriched many international museums for hundreds of years; and

WHEREAS: This art form requires great skill, intensive
training and artistic ability, and has been enhanced by talented Americans
whose labor will delight future generations; andt

WHEREAS: The Greenwood Porcelain Artist Guild, founded
in 1977 and a member of the Indiana Federation of the World Organization
of China Painters, will host the Indiana Federation Show, April 22-24,
1983; and
-
WHEREAS: Entertainment and programs will include nationally
prominent porcelain artists and teachers demonstrating their techniques
and art work;

NOW, THEREFORE, I ,William H. Hudnut ,III, Mayor of
the CIty of Indianapolis, do hereby proclaim April 18-24, 1983, as
"PORCELAIN ART WEEK"
in Indianapolis, and urge all citizens to learn more about porcelain art, and to extend best wishes to the Greenwood Porcelain Artist Guild in future endeavors.
